Series 502 - 504 SLIDING WINDOW
Single Glazed: Standard single glazed sash will accept glass up to
6.76mm thick.
Thick Glass: Custom adaptor allows 7.52mm and 10.38mm glass to be glazed into sliding window sashes, as illustrated top right.
Applied Colonial Bars: There are two colonial bar options:
• 20mm wide recessed flat bars both sides of the glass.
• 20mm raised bar external and 20mm flat bar internal (The raised bar can only
be used if the sash glass is less than 4mm thick).
Double Glazing: Custom adaptor allows 19mm insulating glass to be fitted into sliding sashes as detailed top right. On transom windows the lowlights can be sliding sashes that open or are screwed closed. Alternatively the fixed lowlights can be fabricated out of Series 516 double glazed fixed lights and coupled to double glazed sliding window as detailed lower right.
Sound Reduction: We have tested a number of sliding windows with different glass types and sash to frame seals. In a standard sliding window fitted with 'Qlon' seals vertically and fin weatherpile horizontally 6.38mm laminated gave 31dB(A) sound reduction, 7.52mm laminated and 19mm insulating glass basically gave the same results.
