Type BFD3 illustrated, also available as BFD5.
This BFD3 unit along with BFD3+1 are the most popular units allowing every day access through a French door with sidelights. The added feature is that the sidelights can also be opened when required.

As these configurations have a loose leaf fitted with lever type lock, the bi-fold doors can be opened from the outside. Other configurations with this access feature: BFD5, BFD5+1 and BFD3+3. The other door types (BFD2, BFD4, BFD2+2, BFD6 and BFD4+2) are designed to be opened from the inside.

Easy to open and easy to close.
Hinges and rollers can be coloured to match framing as illustrated on this example.

Open the French door first, disengage the flush bolts, break open the remaining two folding doors. Then open all three to the side. In closing reverse the procedure, making sure to close the folding doors before closing the French door.
