AWNING WINDOWS
Custom Sash Joinery |
An awning sash is subjected to severe pressure if strong wind hits the window when the sashes are in the open position. |
The sash will be under most pressure around the hinge and
winder fixing point. |
Winder Fixing: We have reinforced winder fixing points to
reduce the chance of the sash failing at this area. |
Sash Seal: We have designed a special co-extruded Santoprene sash-to-frame bulb seal. The hard backing on the seal prevents bulb stretching and shrinkage which is critical to the water, air and noise seal. The Santoprene bulb will resist UV attack and retain shape which again is very important to the long term performance of the window, as the weather stops at this seal. |
Sash Corner Joinery: Sash corners are held tight with large
nylon corner stakes and double stainless steel screw fixing.
As mentioned earlier sashes may be racked and twisted so
it’s important that the corners are held tight to maintain the
weather seal. Bottom corners fitted with moulded nylon corner
cover, as shown top right. |
| If you are fitting awnings into your project make sure the joinery and hardware is suitable and strong enough. |
